We are a Year 1 class at Nelson Central School, Nelson, New Zealand. Most of us are 5 years old,
except for our teachers, Tracy and Sam and Mark our trainee teacher aide, who are a little older. This blog lets you know what we

Term 4 Week 5

Kia Ora and welcome to our blog for Week 5 of Term 4. 
This week we have heaps of examples of collaboration in our writing....

...work on doubles in maths.......

..and solving maths rich tasks.

 

We looked at the Indian festival of Diwali which took place this week and celebrated by making firework pictures.....
...looking at some traditional Indian clothes.....

...making salt dough divas.....
 

......and making our own chalk rangoli patterns.

 


Outside we caught up on our tennis skills by having a special lesson to replace the one that was rained off earlier in the term.



In No Child Left Inside we practice our bowling skills after a warm up game of chain tag. Check out the game on the video below.



 In Discovery Time we had a great time playing together in the shelter we made under the fort on the Junior Adventure Playground.




 We had some special end of the day treats with Esme's nana reading us some stories and also some exciting news reports from our friends.
